Tianyuan Guan MD, MPH, Ph.D

Biostatistician, Public Health Data Scientist

Tianyuan Guan, PhD, is a biostatistician and public health scientist with a foundational background in clinical medicine and advanced training in quantitative research methods. She earned her PhD in Biostatistics from the University of Cincinnati through the Department of Environmental and Public Health Sciences, following completion of her MD in Clinical Medicine and an MPH in Biostatistics.

Dr. Guan’s research centers on statistical methodology and study design, with particular expertise in sample size determination across clinical, environmental, and population health research settings. Her work supports investigators in building scientifically sound, statistically robust studies that produce reliable and reproducible results.

During her academic training, she provided statistical consulting for prostate cancer research, contributed to public health studies on e-cigarette use among adolescents, and collaborated with multidisciplinary research teams on projects involving survival analysis, epidemiology, and health outcomes research.

With broad experience in biostatistics, data science, and applied analytics, Dr. Guan integrates medical knowledge with advanced statistical modeling to improve research quality and decision-making in public health and clinical science. She remains engaged in advancing evidence-based methodology while maintaining a strong commitment to interdisciplinary collaboration and education.
