Dr. Heyman and I are delighted to announce a new CIRS training course that leads to awarding CIRS credentials to successful candidates. The course is designed to be current with all new test materials based strictly on up-to-date peer-reviewed and published material.
There are three parts to this exam. The first, part 1, is an open book review of key concepts of CIRS, including genie. The candidates will be asked to answer questions from a list of 12 separate elements needed to become an expert in cirs medicine. Grading is pass/fail. The answers are found in the reference materials which include 400 slides on the slide deck, the textbook of cirs medicine and a recently published paper. These materials are sent to you when you enroll.
Part 1 may be taken 3 times to achieve a passing score.
Part 2 is a timed True/False and multiple-choice exam. When you are ready to take part 2, let Debbie Waidner know (email, debnewsome1@hotmail.com). She will make an appointment for you to take part 2. You will have 2 hours to submit your answers. Be sure to keep your appointment to take the exam; Debbie is on EST until daylight savings time starts when she switches to EDT. If you don’t file your answers on time, a late fee of $250 applies. The grading for part 2 will be returned to you within 48 hours.
Part 2 must be passed with a minimum score of 80%. If you do not pass, you will be able to discuss your answers with Drs. Heyman or Shoemaker. If you still don’t pass, a supplemental oral exam will be offered at an additional fee of $250. The decision of pass/fail will be determined by your part 3 proctor.
Part 3 is the oral exam with either Drs. Heyman or Shoemaker. This exam takes 30 minutes or less. A case will be presented to you. You will be asked to diagnose and treat the fictitious case. When you have satisfied the examiner that you that have passed, your name will be posted on the Beyond Mold website and you will receive a certificate from CIRS credentials.
The cost is $3200, prepaid and non-refundable.
Once you have enrolled, you will have one year to finish the course.
If you have passed the GWU Professional CME course (20 credits!) before you take the credentials course, you are eligible for a $250 credit applied to the credentials course.
If you have questions, contact Debbie at debnewsome1@hotmail.com.
