If you think mold is making you sick, your doctor may suggest blood tests for CIRS (Chronic Inflammatory Response Syndrome). These tests look for signs of inflammation in your blood.
There is a simpler, faster, and often more helpful test called the Visual Contrast Sensitivity (VCS) test. Here’s why many doctors now use VCS as the first and best check for mold-related problems.
The VCS test is a quick eye test that shows how well your brain and nerves are working. You look at gray circles with faint lines on a computer or tablet. The test takes only 5–7 minutes and needs no needles or blood draw.
Mold toxins affect a special part of your visual system (called the magnocellular pathway) very early. The VCS test catches these changes before you even notice “brain fog.”

Most doctors now start with the VCS test because it answers the most important question: “Is the mold actually affecting my body and brain?”
If the VCS is normal → you can often skip or delay expensive blood tests. If the VCS is abnormal → blood tests can then give extra detail.
The VCS test is simple, quick, painless, and gives clear answers about whether mold toxins are impacting your nervous system. It is often the smartest first step for anyone with fatigue, brain fog, sinus problems, or other unexplained symptoms.
Talk to your doctor about taking the standardized digital VCS test. It could save you time, money, and discomfort while giving you faster, more useful information.
